History of the RAIN Coalition
The RAIN Coalition was formed in 2021 as a partnership of three watershed organizations—Bronx River Alliance, Gowanus Canal Conservancy, and Newtown Creek Alliance—and one workforce development group—The HOPE Program—to pilot watershed-based GI maintenance linked with quality job creation. RAIN welcomed Green City Force and Guardians of Flushing Bay to the Coalition in 2023.
